Attached is a surprising example: when compiled with master, measures 8-10 are stretched a lot, so that their spacing matches the spacing of surrounding measures (which is very nice). When compiled with patchset4, these measures are very cramped and look really bad (the overall spacing in the piece remains the same, i.e. 2 measures/system on average).

I'm aware that this example isn't exactly minimal (i've reduced it as much as i could - no more time, sorry). Nevertheless, the spacing is "default" (i.e. there are no \breaks, page- and system-count is not forced, common shortest duration etc. is not changed, ...) - the only two settings affecting the spacing are line-width and lyric stencil overrides (in the main file). All other files just contain the music (and very simple context structures).
