As we are talking about both a rather invasive (though intentional)  
regression this fixes as well as a crash with a somewhat recent history and  
since this will also have repercussions for how our proposed templates may  
look and work, I'd rather have this in in 2.19.23.  The current countdown  
ends on Saturday, and 2.19.23 was slated to get out this weekend.

So I'm marking this as joining the countdown to the 11th on my own  
responsibility.  Of course, feedback is appreciated and heeded.
