note-string would work though. I don't foresee any case where note-fret
can handle something that note-string can't.

Fingering is needed a lot in classical guitar, but there is usually not
a tab, except for very introductory level music. I don't believe I've
ever seen fingering in a guitar tab. On the other hand, you shouldn't
disallow a user from being able to do something, simply because it's not
common practice. As a side note, I'm not familiar with banjo, nor other
instruments where tablature is commonly used.
