On my machine, librestrict.so is not built at this stage. I simply called make
manually in that directory, which created librestrict.so and made these
messages go away.

Hmm, is that file set to executable? It's part of the git package, which is
downloaded from kernel.org...

PS: I should probably mention that I'm on Debian x86, not on Darwin. Here,
gub's bootstrap phase builds just fine.
