I redid the make ; make doc and didn't get the message, things compile 
ok now.

I am now wondering if I simply ran out of resources during the compile 
on my Lilybuntu set up?

Or if there was any clue in the message itself that other *NIX types may 
recognise as something useful.

I apologise for appearing to cry wolf.
