Yes, it works properly only in 2.16.
Little zeros on tabstaff is because \hideNote didn't include
TabNoteHead, see issue 2480 (fixed 2.15.38).
The strange signs on tabstaff (in 2.14.2) are related to issue 1459.
About no numerals over normal staff in 2.14.2, see previous messages
from Patrick and David.
In 2.14.2 I used the following snippet to get this kind of grace slides:

I think it can be removed once LSR upgrades to 2.16.
Or maybe you can leave it but you'd better add a comment saying that
it's just an hack for versions below 2.16
