Hi everybody,
I noticed slight glitches when having a look at the ‘Easier editing’
page on the website. This is the text about Frescobaldi:
> Frescobaldi is a lightweight, yet powerful, music and text editor
with many features added and enhanced particularly for LilyPond. Major
features include point-and-click links between the code and music
views, detailed score wizards, built in LilyPond documentation
browser, syntax highlighting and automatic completion. Frescobaldi is
written in Python, with PyQt4 for its user interface, and will run on
all major operating systems (GNU/Linux, Mac OS X and Windows).
I’m not a native speaker, so help me out here: the two commas
encompassing ‘yet powerful’ seem German to me. Is that idiomatic
English? Also: built in or built-in?
I obviously can't comment on those.
Next, I’d suggest writing just PyQt instead of updating it to PyQt5,
to avoid the necessity of further updates. Is that a good idea?
I'm not sure, but in any case it's inconsistent (now). It should either
be "Python" and "PyQt" or "Python 3" and "PyQt5". Your reasoning is
good, but since these versions are a matter for installing, so it might
as well be a good idea to keep them (i.e. add the "3").
I’ll propose a patch when these are answered.
If you do you so you might consider also adding "an integrated
manuscript viewer" to the list of features.
Best
