At MIT, we have a bunch of centrally maintained redhat machines. As
far as I can tell, the central system decided to install guile1.3. It
removed my guile1.4, and put in a 1.3. When I removed it and
reinstalled 1.4, everything worked again. Thanks for all your
suggestions.
