lilypond bar numbers, string choosing? |

Thanks for all the help -- if anyone is interested in the bass line of
Bach's bourree in e minor transposed for mandolin, let me know :).
I do have two more questions, one minor, one major, so to speak:
1) is it really true that bar numbers cannot printed on every bar (so
says node `Bar numbers'? This would be very helpful when working on
a score.
2) when generating tablature, it occurs to me that lilypond could in
theory choose a default string for a given pitch. Usually there is
only one reasonable choice. E.g., in violin tuning the second string
would be chosen for pitches between d (the space above middle c) and
g' (the second line in treble clef), inclusive.
I realize tablature is a new feature and all, and I'm truly impressed
that Lilypond can do staff/tablature output so easily already, but
... Just a suggestion. It would make it possible to transpose pieces
up and down and (probably) change absolutely nothing. (!)
Thanks again,
karl
