slurs and chords

Hello,

When chords are slurred together,  I think it obvious that all the notes of 
the chords should be connected.  In the example, the c and the f will be 
connected, but not the e and the c', as obviously they should.  How do I do 
it? Putting in more parentheses will not make any difference.
