ah, i was looking for \skip in the Index..that's why..

thanks!
i have way more questions though..:) like if it's possible to print the Instrument Name in front of every system in stead of just the beginning of the piece.

It's not hard:

1)  Go to www.lilypond.org

2)  Click on "manual"

3)  Search (probably ctrl-f in your browser) for "skip".


(one piece of info that isn't in the manual (yet) is that you can multiply
skips -- ie s1*8 will skip eight whole notes)
