In this case, I would go for two separate voices, with separate
stem directions to make it easier to read. For example:

\score{\notes\relative c'{
\time 3/4
\partial 4 c4 |
<{e4. f8 g4 | d4. ( e8 f ) d | c2. |} \\ {g2. ~ | g ~ | g ~ | g ~ |} >
}}
