Re: trouble with LaTeX package "doublespace"

Weird! However, I followed the advice in the CTAN catalogue entry for
doublespace:
"Defines the spacing environment which you can use anywhere in your 
document. This package is superseded by setspace."

and tried the setspace package instead, which seems to work well.
