beam placement

Hey, y'all:

I just noticed something when converting my Upside-Down Rag to 2.1.17:

If I remember Ross correctly, a beam should either sit on, straddle, or 
hang from a staff line -- obviously the upper beam in this case does 
none of those three. Is the beam engraving designed per Ross, or some 
other standard?
