Now, with Vim 6.2.424, I'd to change ftdetect/lilypond.vim to

    au! BufNewFile,BufRead *.ly         set ft=lilypond
    
The old "setf lilypond" used in the latest LilyPond version (2.2.0)
doesn't seem to work.
