     I haven't tried this on a staff with bass clef, but if you use
\relative mode, you can add more than one comma (ie. g,, )to lower the note
by more than one octave. I have produced by accident lines of music with
many ledger lines below the staff. I cannot see why this would not be the
case for a staff with a bass clef.
