Good luck.  Peter Flynn does have TeX compiled to run on the Z, so
that's one step in the right direction.

There are reports of people getting timidity to run.  So even if
lilypond turns out to be too big and complicated, I'm sure you could
enter and proofread ABC, and later convert it to lilypond.

I haven't been impressed with my own ability to get GUI's to run on my
Z.  But one I'd like to see is skink, which is java-based.  You have
to type the ABC, but it displays and plays it back.  I can run it on
both my LINUX desktop and my Windows 98 laptop, but when I've asked
Wil Macauley, the author, about PDA's he hasn't risen to the bait.
