Well, sure...  =)

However, I *think* Tim meant -- and, if not, *I* certainly feel this 
way -- that an easy and transparent method of exchanging data between 
Lilypond and other programs which read/write XML (i.e., MusicXML, 
primarily) would be a huge benefit.
