Problem with Fonts on Mandrake 10.2 - lily-guile: can't find "tex256.enc"

Here is a bit more detail on the problem I have been having with fonts 
on Lilypond-2.4.2 (on Mandrake 10.1)
The error is
warning: lily-guile: can't find "tex256.enc"
