noteheads in parentheses

hello there 
i've looked through the archives for mail on parantheses and found
some messages about dynamics in parentheses from last year - did this
end up eventuating ?
in any case, i noticed nicolas wrote

and would like to know how one can put a notehead in parentheses.
if he was mistaken, perhaps i could request that this be added to the
wishlist: in the piano music i am writing, sometimes the same note
appears in more than one part and it's useful to be able to put one of
them in parentheses so the player knows that it is intended that only
one finger plays the note (an example from published music can be
found in ravel's "gaspard de la nuit", edition peters (ed. nichols)).
