In the Install.txt file the following is written:
If you are not root, you should choose a `--prefix'
argument that
points into your home directory, e.g.:
./configure --prefix=$HOME/usr
In this case, you have to insert the contents of
`buildscripts/out/lilypond-login' or
`buildscripts/out/lilypond-profile' into your start up
scripts by hand.
what startup scripts does it mean?
when is this done? before compile/build or when
running lilypond?
After it's built, before running. This info only applies to the 2.4
stream; for 2.5 you don't need to do anything.
By "your start up scripts", they mean "~/.profile" or "~/.bash_profile"
or "~/.bashrc".
