Hi,
LilyPond is one of these programs where you should not expect to be able
to do anything useful if you haven't read any documentation. Please read
the Tutorial to get started.
Also, note that LilyPond is very different from most other programs you
have seen in Windows, since you describe the music you want to typeset
in a textual format and then run LilyPond to produce the graphical
output.
