It seems the Debian people are out of the loop on this package. I use
wajig (super set of apt package management) so update my systems.
Command wajig news (pakagename)
wajig news lilypond :
--------- snip -----------
" Description:
lilypond - A program for typesetting sheet music
lilypond-data - LilyPond music typesetter (data files)
lilypond1.3 - Dummy package for transition to new stable lilypond
Changes:
lilypond (2.4.5-2) unstable; urgency=low
* debian/control (Build-Depends): Build system demands you have
ec-fonts-mftraced installed to build, so do it. "
That's why we don't have a 2.6 *stable* lilyond on Debian when the Red
Hat Folks do. This is a pretty active list and I think we can generate
enough noise to get this changed. Lilypond at this point is any but
unstable and the urgency is not LOW by any means. I believe we no
longer use EC fonts and feta is the standard.
-------------- end snip --------
wajig has a facility for using an rpm to install from, i haven't tried
this but I know people have used it with some success.
I just don't know who to talk to at Debian to let them know there is a
sizable community out here interested and using this package! I think
the DiMuDi/Agnuala people do though! I posted a few weeks ago about
this iissue and Russel Harris asked where I'd seen the quote about its
"low urgency" and i couldnt' remember.. here it is now! Perhaps we can
get this changed.
