Thanks, I've tried, I gave to the patch file the name
lilypond-mode.patch and followed your insctructions, but I get an
error message. Here it is:

libero$ patch -uN < lilypond-mode.patch
patching file lilypond-mode.el
patch: **** malformed patch at line 11: ".ly"

Can you help me in solving this?
