Please always remember - there are two main methods to get a specific feature added to LilyPond, either implement it yourself or sponsor Han-Wen to do it.

As far as I can remember, this was the first time over the 10
years that LilyPond has existed, that anybody has requested the 6+5/8 layout. I think it's great that LilyPond is able to typeset it anyway, using the relatively easy solution I sent earlier today. Don't you agree?

Seriously, the Tips and Tricks document contains an example
compound-time.ly, which provides a small function to typeset
time signatures of the form 6/8 + 5/8. If you or anybody else comes up
with a similar function to simplify time
signatures of the style 6+5/8

If Lilypond supported compound time signatures, how they were printed
would be purely a matter of style.
