Beam gap(?) spacing

Hi everyone,

This is my first time posting to the list, and after doing some searches I couldn't seem to find an answer to this problem. Basically, I am doing a proportional notation (see the code below) and am doing this by entering 32nd notes. What I would like to do is either:

hide the 16th and 32nd note beams (to make the notation look like a string of 8th notes), or possibly close the gap between the beams to achieve the same appearance. Is there a variable I can set to do this?

Thanks for any help.

Josh
