The reason for the 2.9.3 version (which works perfectly standalone) is that
it's the one that is packaged in my distro (arch), and the packaging
apparently is a rather complicated process in LPs case. I can of course use
the binary installer, but I like to keep things clean, without too many apps
wildly independent. I can't go back to previous versions either, because I
needed some of the new features in the 2.9 v. (can't remember which ones, but
I'm not going back again to try it out...)
