Sustain-Pedal: Y-offset?

Hi all,

the SustainPedal object apparently does not
avoid collisions with slurs of other voices.

So, in order to fix things manually, how can
I adjust the vertical position of a SustainPedal
sign? 

The padding property desribed in the program
reference does not have any effect. I also tried
Y-offset, again no effect. The only thing I can
tweak is the X-offset.

Any suggestions?
