My understanding was that the f dots are the vestiges of the two lines in the letter "F"... is that not the case? Hence the C clef and G clef wouldn't have them (being stylised "C"s and "G"s respectively).

I've no authoritative source for this though.

Also, I notice that only the F-clef has its two points; but I say that every clef should have them, like the Soprano and French Soprano clefs do in the big Bachausgabe. How do I put this necessary points to my clefs?
Are you saying that also C clefs should have the two dots. I cannot recall having
seen such a layout in printed music.

Well, yes, I always put the two dots when I write them, though I don't remember printed examples for the C-clefs either - but it is a logical concept, I think, and very useful when teaching: in this last case, pupils learn quickly to differentiate between the different C-clefs, which can also be drawn more easily. The design of the printed C-clef is precise and adequate to "embrace" a line, but it is more difficult in handwriting, especially for children.

The Bachausgabe may be not available to me at the moment, but I shall try to get my hands on it and photocopy an example of the G- clefs with dots. I remember them for the recorder parts in IV Brandenburg concerto. Perhaps more dots would be found in older instances, from when the clef notation system was developing. If I see something, I'll let you know.

(I will try the solutions to my other questions and report results later)
