That will work. And you can put \breaks in a separate voice, if you
find that easier to organize or conceptualize (keeping the breaks
"outside of" the actual music).

If you need to break in the middle of a duration of a note (medieval
or contemporary) then you'll need to \remove
Forbid_line_break_engraver.
