No, because I take the music from the vocals. If I would use a
skip I would have no rests there too...

If you search the mailing list archives, you will find many discussions related
to the deficiencies of the current \partcombine implementation and also some
reasons why there haven't been any quick and dirty fixes in the implementation
to try to solve these problems recently.

I hope you know about section "Different editions from one source" which
describes one possible method to get a skip in the (piano reduction?) version where
you use \partcombine and a rest in the full vocal score.
