How can I manage to control the duration of the chord name on the top of a
staff.
You specify the duration of each chord just the same way as you specify the
duration of a normal note. For example,
c1:9^3.5 is a chord with the duration of a whole note
c3:9^3.5 is a chord with the duration of a half note
c16:9^3.5 is a chord with the duration of a 16th note
c:9^3.5 is a chord with the same duration as the previous chord.
