I can possibly mess around with latex to get the desired effect, using nested box elements and includegraphics (if you have already a solution for that, please send it to me!). However, is there a simpler canonical way to do that? Or is a quarter note already a composed object (note-head + stem) that can not be easily assembled in latex from the lilypond font?
