Helge,

Don't stick with notepad!  Even though it's not a graphical input, you should
use Lily4Jedit (or some similar editor that has Lilypond compatibility mode).

If you install Jedit and Lily4Jedit, you'll be much more productive in keyboard
entry than in notepad, and I think you'll find that you'll also be much more
productive than you would in graphical entry.

I used to use programming editors on Windows with lilypond.  Now I use
LilypondTool for Jedit, and love it.
