Lyrics to rests?

Hello,

I want to place lyrics with a rest.  Can I do this, or do I need to
use a _\markup and then manually move the text so that it aligns
vertically with the rest of the lyrics?  In the example below, I want
the second "1" to line up with the eight rest.
