Thanks for the tips. Ok, go ahead and call me dumb, dense, whatever, and 
get that out of the way. Here I am still confused.  I've pasted my piece 
in below, where in this piece does the \book go? What I see in the 
examples just don't match up with what I have here, and I think I'm 
doing this right, am I not?
