new feature request (was: the greatness of LilyPond)

this is a great feature indeed. what i really miss is a similar way to  
connect chords across staves. the present way, manually extending  
stems, is very awkard and inconvenient. i think something like \change  
Staff should work inside chords, or any other feature of the kind.
