Why is it that I can use, for example:
\once \override Slur #'direction = #DOWN
or
\once \override Slur #'direction = #UP
but
\once \slurDown or \once \slurUp
Generates a syntax error. The same happens with stemUp and stemDown, tieUp
and tieDown, etc.
I'm using 2.12.2.
