Why don't you just bind the lyrics to the voice that has the notes?
Perhaps since you cannot find a single voice that has notes for all the syllables. In such a case, you can switch between the different voices, see http://lilypond.org/doc/v2.12/Documentation/user/lilypond/Stanzas#Stanzas-with-different-rhythms
(under the heading "Switching to an alternative melody").
