It "works" in the sense that it looks good...
But it is still musically wrong -- for example, MIDI output would not  
be as desired/expected.

That is easily fixed/adjusted.

You can obviously do whatever you want -- I'm just posting this  
response to ensure that nobody looking at the list archive (in the  
future) thinks that your solution is a good one to implement as a  
general rule.
