Ok, cannot  complain anymore ... :-)
I have tried a similar solution using, instead #'transparent property, the 
#'stencil property
( \override Staff.RehearsalMark #'stencil = ##f then \revert 
Staff.RehearsalMark #'stencil ),
It worked well too, but Lilypond complained :
" Programming error : cannot align on self: empty element"
So #'transparent is here quite perfect.
