Let's first fix the related problems that LilyPond has with repeats. It's a much more serious issue. Honestly, if you have used the bar checks in LilyPond to automatically check all but the last measure, then it's very simple to manually check the last measure.

Agreed. It was a comment that a former Finale user had passed on to me - but she's converted fully to Lilypond and isn't bothered by it anymore.
