Another idea: is it possible to parenthesize _all_ tied notes
(perhaps with some applyOutput-trickery)
and use the after-line-breaking function to override
ParenthesesItem #'transparent = ##t
(and of course TabNoteHead #'transparent = ##t)
for all notes except after a line break?
