\slurDown and \stemDown work quite fine. But they don't look very
good, because they are sticky to the staff line (as you can see in the
attached pdf).
The control-points are definitely better (see the first measure).
They require more code but it's a very flexible tool and the results
are great. I'll try to get acquainted with that..
