This is exactly why I 'm so glad that Lilypond can
produce SVG output.  Import the SVG into
Inkscape 0.47 and you can do 
ABSOLUTELY ANYTHING with your score.  
I've said it before - SVG output from Lilypond can 
be imported into Inkscape, where the graphical elements 
can be manipulated in any way you want.  
No restrictions on placement of notes, spacing, 
text, pictures, grob sizes, bend staves, stems, etc.  
The LilyPond/LilyPondTool/Inkscape 
combination is OUTSTANDING.
