So it seems there is a regression between 2.12.2 and 2.12.3 or 2.13.10.
How can we find where it comes from?
  

Based on the recursion tip, perhaps there is some not optimal algorithm in the libguile of 2.12.3 (though we should check the changelist what changed)
Try to add this setting to your root ly file:

#(debug-set! stack 100000)
