RE: Old version (2.6.5) Time signature before bar line?

I hope this explains it...the piece starts in 4/4, and the last measure of the repeat is in 5/4 (the continuation after the repeat stays in 5 for a few bars)
 
It just seems odd that going back to the beginning of the repeat, back in 4/4, would not have any notification...
