Actually, I have read a few contest rules myself which were distasteful
in a different manner.  Paraphrased it was "we pick the one we'd like to
market exclusively according to our own conditions, but just to be on
the safe side, we reserve the rights to the non-winning entries as
well".

That's not a contest, but a rip-off.
