Ouch.  Why not simply put it into your local TEXMF folder, usually
~/texmf?  Then you don't have to do any further links!  If it doesn't
exist yet, you should create it.  An appropiate subdirectory is

  ~/texmf/tex/xelatex/lilyglyphs/
