Beg to differ.  Formatting for electronic display of music is one of the
more important application areas for LilyPond.

Fine: about 2500dpi, Laser: about 600dpi (nowadays, 300dpi previously).

Hairlines have different visual function at different resolution, so for
similar reading characteristics, at coarser resolutions letter shapes
can't be as closed as at higher resolutions where hairlines can create
letter shapes distinct from the gray level leading across the page.
